Adult Sunday School Breakfast

Come join us for breakfast at 9:00 in the Fireside Room! We’ll enjoy each other’s company over breakfast and share a time of prayer and conversation together as we eat. Come and learn about the next three Sunday School options for adults that will meet in March and April. The breakfast will be by donation, but don’t let money keep you from coming! We hope to see you there!

Adult Sunday School Classes
March 8 – April 26

Join Us for One of These Exciting Classes

When Bad Things Happen to Good People:  We can all be plagued by the doubts and fears that arise when tragedy strikes.  How can a good God allow this to happen to us?  What about all the evil in the world? Join Wes Jeffcoat as he deals with this difficult topic through the work of Rabbi Harold S. Kushner.  Meet with Wes in the Fireside Room.

Reading the Bible with New Eyes.  We all approach scripture differently — with our own assumptions, personal history, and relationships.  Join Scott Ford for presentations and lively discussion around various frameworks and perspectives that may prove to change the way you read and understand scripture.  Meet with Scott in the Sunday school class next to the sanctuary.

Grace and the Gospel of John: John’s Gospel can simultaneously be one of the most beautiful and challenging books in the New Testament. Karen Marker takes an eight week look at selected passages of the Gospel that focus on transformation, becoming a new person by following Christ.  Meet with Karen in the Room 106, across from the kitchen’s serving room.

Lenten Guides

We are so fortunate at Crosscreek to be served by so many talented members.  Several of our members have written devotions for our Daily Lenten Guide for 2015.

There are a few hard copies on the table in the foyer and everyone should have received an email containing a digital copy.

If you would like to receive the devotional in your email every day,  select the following link, http://www.revotional.org and subscribe.  The devotionals are great and will certainly be worth your time.

Spiritual Formation

You don’t want to miss this retreat!  The dates are
March 20-21, 2015, right here at Crosscreek.  Join us as we more deeply explore the practices of contemplative prayer together!  We will grow closer to one another and to God as we learn to listen to the Divine in our lives.

The retreat will include Friday dinner, Saturday morning refreshments, and Saturday lunch. Childcare will be available.

There will be a cost to cover food and materials, and that will be available soon. Please sign up by calling the church office or sending an email to brandon@crosscreekbaptist.org and letting us know you are interested in being a part of this exciting weekend.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt – March 22

The annual Crosscreek Easter Egg Hunt will be Sunday, March 22, immediately following Worship.  You can help make this year’s Easter Egg Hunt a success for our little ones!  Any time between now and Wednesday, March 18, you are invited to donate candy or already stuffed plastic Easter Eggs for the Egg Hunt.  Please remember no chocolate (it melts in the sun!) and no nuts (allergies!).  You may leave your candy or stuffed egg donations in the front office or in designated areas outside the Sanctuary and Nursery.  Thank you!

The Hudsons Have a Home in Pelham!

The Hudsons are happy to announce that they will soon be permanent residents of Pelham. We are thankful for your prayers for what has been a longer than expected transition. We are thankful to Jan Merz, for her graciousness, and her hospitality as she has opened up space for us for the past year and more.

We will be moving over the month of March, and our new address is 2590 Royal Way!

We love being at Crosscreek and all of you, and are looking forward to living closer.

Love,

Jill and Brandon

    Welcome to Crosscreek

“A church where everyone is welcome” is more than just a slogan at Crosscreek, it is our identity.

For most of the congregation’s thirty year history, it has been racially diverse and practiced gender equality in leadership. The openness to diversity and generosity of heart displayed by these choices has become a willingness to embrace all who worship with us, no matter their struggles or depth of faith.

At Crosscreek people are valued no matter their age or ability. Children, youth, and adults share worship leadership roles each week. We offer age appropriate programming for children that includes booster seats and activity bags for worship. Youth are offered faith-formative fellowship and Bible study. Adults of all ages find encouragement for faith through worship and Sunday School classes.
